Bill C-11

Bill C-11 was a refugee reform law passed in 2010 by the Harper Conservative government with the support of the Liberal Party of Canada. The reforms, which are supposed to be implemented by the summer of 2012, speed up the process so that claimants may not have enough time to prepare their cases. Working with its partners, AGIR was active in lobbying to change the bill before it was passed. AGIR Policy Brief C 11 (pdf)
