The Just Solutions Clinic helps disadvantaged groups such as refugees, immigrants, elderly, low income persons, inner-city tenants and the homeless. It is part of the Montreal City Mission of Saint James United Church. They provide free services, including legal information, referrals, support, accompaniments and advocacy. Staff and interns (law and social work) are available for consultation about individual situations and problems, including help with refugee and immigration procedures, help with welfare/social assistance applications or problems and help with housing issues.

They also have information sessions in English and French on the refugee claimant process. A Commissioner of Oaths is available on site at no charge. Please note: the Just Solutions clinic does not offer legal services or legal advice. Their services are limited to providing information, support, referrals, accompaniment services and advocacy. Please call in advance to make an appointment.

The McGill University Legal Information Clinic is operated by volunteer law students. All information you give them will be kept confidential. Call and leave a message with a few details about the legal information you need as well as your phone number or an email address. A volunteer will pick up your information and call or email you back to collect more information on your case. They will also find the legal information you need and then email or call you back once again. If you want, you can also drop by their office. No appointment is necessary.
